Our Shepherd Huts
Our hand-built, self-catering Shepherd Huts are situated right here on the vineyard, in their own private meadow. Only a stone's throw from the beach, and fully-equipped with kitchen and shower room, it's the perfect spot for an island escape on St Martin's.

We visited lots of shepherds huts before designing and building this accommodation from scratch, so we've taken all the best characteristics and designed out some of the more awkward bits. For example, we made the huts a little wider than usual, so there's no need to clamber over each other to get into the spacious double bed!
We've also installed a full size, mains pressure shower to ensure you can have a refreshing start to the day, or a relaxing hot shower after a day of exploring.
Despite the amazing food offerings on St Martin's, you might not want to eat out every night so we've installed a full-spec kitchen including oven/microwave, induction hob, fridge/freezer, sink, kettle and toaster. As well as all the usual essentials, you'll find a few extras such as a cafetiere and toast rack for a lazy breakfast in the sunshine.

Although we love the look of a log burner, if you just want to take the chill off an autumn morning, you're unlikely to want to stack up the logs. This is why we've installed underfloor heating which can quickly warm the room at the touch of a button.

All of the power for the hut comes from renewable sources - primarily from our own solar panels and battery storage here on the vineyard, or through our renewables-only energy provider.

WiFi is provided and included in the price.

We have installed a compost toilet to conserve water and provide a more environmentally friendly solution. It's a swish Swedish design which does all of the hard work for you - no woodchips, no smells, just a toilet you can use like any other!
St Martin's has an amazing community of artists and creators so it's been a real pleasure to source some of the items for our hut from right here on the island!
Ty Van Den Berg (Thrown.By Ty) has made our beautiful plates, bowls, and coffee mugs; we have Scillonian III cushion covers made by Inga (Ingart); and cups and vases by Caroline Gillett.

The huts are situated in their own private meadow - it's a lovely spot to relax and enjoy the birdsong. Each hut has its own separate outdoor space with a picnic bench, BBQ and sun loungers along with an outdoor wardrobe for storing wetsuits and outdoor gear.

You can be paddling in the sea on the stunning white sands of Par Beach within 3 minutes of leaving the front door - I think we can confidently claim to be the only vineyard stay in the UK to offer such a luxury!
